It is with very great sadness that we let you know of the death of Sally Reid on Saturday after a short illness.

Sally was an excellent bridge player and devoted a great deal of her time for many years, together with husband Gibby, teaching bridge to school children and adults.  She taught with clarity and enthusiasm and laid down a solid foundation for the continuation of bridge in northeast Scotland.

It was a privilege to know Sally and she will be so sadly missed by her many bridge playing friends throughout the northeast and further afield.  Sally and Gibby were firm fixtures at bridge congresses, such as Aviemore and Elgin, and their warmth, humour and hospitality were a joy to those around them. Sally's stern and censorious gaze at some of Gibby's more optimisitic bidding is a thing of legend.

Our thoughts are with Gibby and the family.
